Police arrested a woman suspected of attempting to run over three men in a truck Tuesday in Bellingham.

Police say three men were engaged in a physical fight along the 300 block of State Street around 8:17 Tuesday night. One of the men was known to Naomi Lynn Miller, 39, who attempted to run the other two men over with her vehicle, according to Megan Peters with the Bellingham Police Department.

After Miller missed, she turned the truck around and tried a second time but missed again, Peters said.

At this point, a fourth man had joined the fight, and Miller attempted to hit him as well, but he was able to get out of the way, according to Peters.

During her attempts to run over the pedestrians with her vehicle, she was reportedly making verbal threats to harm them, Peters said.

When officers arrived at the scene, Miller was arrested on three counts of first-degree assault, a class A felony.

No one was injured during the incident, according to police. Miller remains in custody at Whatcom County Jail. No other arrests were made regarding the altercation.
