Blaine landlord arrested after allegation he pointed firearm at a tenant’s mother

A Whatcom County man has been arrested for first-degree assault after allegedly pulling a gun on a woman who was helping her son move, according to Deb Slater with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Department.

The man is a landlord in Blaine who was involved in a confrontation with a tenant in the process of moving out and the tenant’s mother. During the confrontation, the landlord pulled a gun on the mother and held it to her head, according to Slater.

The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14 on Halibut Drive in Blaine.

When deputies contacted the landlord, 45-year-old Westlee Adam Brock from Blaine, he said he had simply asked the tenant’s mother to leave his house.

Brock was in custody at Whatcom County Jail on Wednesday.
