After two men fought in Bellingham, one landed in the hospital and the other in jail

One man stabbed another during an altercation in Bellingham.

The man’s injuries appear to be non-life threatening, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to Megan Peters with The Bellingham Police Department. The incident occurred around 2:11 p.m. Dec. 3 in the 4000 block of Northwest Avenue.

The victim was in a argument with Levi Jonathan Dudley, 35, and it turned into a physical fight. During the fight Dudley stabbed the other man with a knife. After being stabbed, the man yelled for someone to call 911, and Dudley left the scene, Peters said.

Witnesses told authorities that Dudley was the one who started the altercation, according to Peters.

Dudley was homeless at the time of his arrest according to court records.

Dudley has been charged with one count of first-degree assault Dec. 4 in Whatcom County Superior Court.
