A Bellingham man gave police a false name, and was later found to have existing warrants and fentanyl powder hidden on his body, police reported.

The man, Daniel Allan Little, was stopped by Whatcom County Sheriff Office deputies when reporting to a burglary in progress. An investigation showed there was no actual entry to the building, and therefor no probable cause for a burglary charge.

Little gave officers a fake name, and when he did finally give them his real one, officers found an outstanding warrant for first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

Little ran away from the deputies when they moved to handcuff him, but he was caught again after a short foot chase.

Deputies also found powder hidden in Little’s buttocks, which Little admitted to being fentanyl, police reported.

Little remains in custody in the Whatcom County Jail.
