Woman charged with felony DUI in Whatcom County was her 4th in a decade, police say

A Ferndale woman was charged with felony driving under the influence on Thursday, Aug. 24, meaning she has received at least four DUIs in 10 years, Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding told The Bellingham Herald.

An officer spotted the vehicle allegedly driven by Marie Gabriella Jefferson, 38, on Northwest Road, about to turn left onto Axton Road. The vehicle had no lights on even though it was dark, and upon making the turn, drove on the right shoulder, over corrected and crossed the center line, Kelsey said.

The trooper made the stop and subsequently charged with DUI.

Jefferson has since bonded out. Details about her bond and court appearance were not immediately available.
