2 Bellingham brothers argue over the dishes, and 1 ends up being stabbed, police say
A Bellingham man stabbed his brother after an argument about dishes, police said.
The incident occurred around 6:53 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Nevada Street. The victim told police he and his brother, Alexander Steven Mattingly, 35, were having an argument about the dishes that got heated. The victim told Mattingly to leave the residence, which he did, according to Lt. Claudia Murphy with the Bellingham Police Department.
However Mattingly soon returned and the argument picked back up, this time escalating into a shoving match, Murphy said.
Mattingly then puled a knife and stabbed his brother twice, once in the chest and once in a finger. Both stab wounds resulted in superficial injuries, Murphy said.
Mattingly was charged with second-degree domestic assault and booked into Whatcom County Jail.
