Bellingham man suspected of voyeurism for reportedly placing camera in roommate’s bathroom
A Bellingham man is suspected of voyeurism after a camera he reportedly set up in his female roommate’s private bathroom captured him setting up the camera.
Bellingham Police booked Timmy Thanh Nguyen, 28, into Whatcom County Jail Thursday, June 9, on suspicion of voyeurism.
The victim reported to police she found the camera at approximately 11 p.m. Monday, June 6, in the vent of her private bathroom, Lt. Claudia Murphy told The Bellingham Herald in an email. The victim reportedly removed the camera and left the residence.
The victim told police nobody was given permission to enter her bathroom, which could only be accessed through her bedroom, Murphy reported.
An examination of the camera showed that one of the videos on the camera showed Nguyen setting the camera up in the vent, according to Murphy, and that it had been set up in a place to capture intimate images of the victim.
According to the Bellingham Police Department’s incident log, Nguyen and the victim were roommates.
Nguyen turned himself in Thursday at the jail, Murphy reported.
