Bellingham Police investigating weekend stabbing

Police are investigating a stabbing that left a man lying in the road bleeding from multiple stab wounds Friday night, June 26, according to police.

The victim was found in the road near the intersection of Humboldt and Virginia streets around 11:55 p.m. Friday, said Sgt. Mike Scanlon.

The man had at least three stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital for surgery and had apparently been released over the weekend, Scanlon said.

No arrests have been made, and the case is still under investigation. Police have interviewed the victim and do not think the stabbing was random, Scanlon said. Police did not release the victim’s name.
