Bellingham man suspected of raping woman he was familiar with
A Bellingham man is suspected of raping a woman he was familiar with last summer.
The Bellingham Police Department booked Rhett Scott Doran-Leuzinger, 21 of Montana, in Whatcom County Jail Thursday, Nov. 4, on suspicion of third-degree rape. Jail records show Doran-Leuzinger was released shortly after the arrest.
The victim reported that on June 10 she and Doran-Leuzinger had an argument, she left and later returned to take a nap, Whatcom County Superior Court documents show, and Doran-Leuzinger entered her bedroom after she awoke.
The victim reported Doran-Leuzinger began removing her clothing and performing sexual acts on her and had intercourse with her, despite the victim telling him she did not want him to do so and said “no,” court documents state.
Court records show Doran-Leuzinger was arraigned Oct. 29 and a jury trail is scheduled for Jan. 10.
