Man allegedly threatens to mail bomb to Bellingham woman and throw acid in mother’s face
A Vancouver, Wash., man is suspected of threatening to mail a bomb to a Bellingham woman and throw acid in her mother’s face. He also reportedly sent intimate pictures of the victim to her friend.
The Bellingham Police Department booked Brody Joseph Clark, 26, into Whatcom County Jail Wednesday, Oct. 27, on suspicion of bomb threat, felony harassment and disclosing intimate images.
According to documents filed in Whatcom County Superior Court April 7:
▪ Bellingham police first made contact with the victim and her mother on Feb. 7, two days after the victim moved in with her mother in Bellingham.
▪ The victim and mother reported that the victim had been in a nearly two-year relationship with Clark and that the two shared an apartment in Vancouver. Both the victim and the mother described the relationship as abusive.
▪ The victim reported that Clark threatened that if the victim ever left him, he would find her and stab her and then go to the mother’s home in Bellingham and throw acid in her face. Clark also allegedly threatened that he would mail a bomb to the victim to kill her.
▪ The victim reported that Clark sent intimate photos of her to her friend on Feb. 5, which was the day she moved to Bellingham. Police booked screenshots of the text messages into evidence.
▪ The victim reported that in the two days after she left Clark, he had called approximately 25 times, left 15 voicemails and texted her approximately 80 times, threatening that he would come to Bellingham, that he wouldn’t let the victim leave him and that he would “get revenge.”
Whatcom County Superior Court issued a warrant for Clark’s arrest on April 8.
Court records show Clark was incarcerated in Clark County Jail since February awaiting a trial scheduled to begin Dec. 6 on charges of three counts of second-degree rape, three counts of disclosing intimate images, two counts of harassment, one count of unlawful imprisonment, one count of trafficking and one count of a protection order violation.
Warrant officers drove down to Clark County and brought Clark back to Whatcom County Wednesday for the case in Bellingham, Lt. Claudia Murphy told The Bellingham Herald in an email.
