Whatcom County deputies arrest man for sexually assaulting child multiple times

An Everson man was arrested Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a child known to him several times over the past year.

David Joseph Lee Saenz, 33, was arrested Feb. 21 on suspicion of first-degree child rape and first-degree child molestation. Saenz was arrested after a weeks-long investigation by the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office’s detective unit, according to Chief Deputy Kevin Hester.

Hester said Saenz allegedly sexually assaulted the girl known to him on several occasions throughout the past year.

He was arrested without incident and booked into the Whatcom County Jail.
