Ferndale houseguest reportedly sexually molested child

A houseguest in Ferndale reportedly had inappropriate sexual contact with a child.

Ferndale police booked Juenal Garcia Jr., 26, into Whatcom County Jail on suspicion of first-degree child molestation on Sunday, Jan. 12.

Garcia was scheduled to make his first appearance in Whatcom County Superior Court Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to a 911 call from the family stating that Garcia, who was a houseguest, made sexual contact with their minor child, Ferndale spokesperson Riley Sweeney told The Bellingham Herald.

Verbal statements and physical evidence supported the accusation, Sweeney said.
