Bellingham pedestrian in crosswalk injured in Christmas hit-and-run

Bellingham police are looking for the driver of a car they suspect injured a pedestrian in an Iowa Street crosswalk in a hit-and-run incident on Christmas day.

Police responded at 2:29 p.m. Dec. 25 to the 1000 block of Iowa Street for the report of a hit-and-run collision, according to the Bellingham Police Department’s incident log.

The male victim was walking eastbound in the crosswalk associated with the Interstate 5 onramp when he was struck by a silver or gold Acura with heavily tinted windows, Lt. Claudia Murphy told The Bellingham Herald.

The victim was knocked to the ground and sustained a shoulder injury that required medical attention, Murphy said.

No suspects have been identified, Murphy said.
