Whatcom man suspected of molesting two young girls he knew

A Deming man is suspected of inappropriately touching two young girls he was familiar with while sleeping in the same bed over a nine-month span.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, Dec. 17, booked Stanley Jay Solomon, 30, on suspicion of three counts of first-degree child molestation.

Solomon slept in the same bed with the 9-year-old and 12-year-old girls while their mother was working nights, according to Whatcom County Superior Court documents filed Nov. 22. During a child forensic interview, each child reported that Solomon had touched them in a sexual manner between July 2018 and March 2019.

Investigators interviewed Solomon after reading him his rights, and he said he “cuddled” with them while sleeping in the same bed, he denied touching them inappropriately, according to court records.

Jail records show Solomon also was arrested by the Lummi Police Department on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

Solomon had misdemeanor convictions in 2016 for resisting arrest and malicious mischief in Skagit County.
