Bellingham man suspected of sending ‘hundreds’ of harassing and threatening comments
A Bellingham man is suspected of harassing, intimidating, tormenting, embarrassing and threatening a victim he never met or had any relationship with from outside the area through various social media platforms.
Bellingham police booked Shaun Michael Dickison, 30, into Whatcom County Jail on Monday, Dec. 9, on suspicion of felony cyberstalking and felony harassment, and jail records show he is being held in lieu of $5,000.
Bellingham detectives were notified by another law enforcement agency on Aug. 12 of Dickison’s alleged actions, Lt. Claudia Murphy told The Bellingham Herald, and those actions continued over the next several months.
Investigators received screenshots of “hundreds” of comments and statements made to the victim by Dickison, Murphy said, and those comments continued even after the victim applied for and was granted an anti-harassment order against Dickison.
Some of the messages included “threatening to kill and causing bodily injury to the victim by using lewd, lascivious, indecent or obscene language,” Murphy said.
Police contacted Dickison on Monday in the 1700 block of East Sunset Drive and arrested him.
