Lummi police chief confirms Thanksgiving drive-by shooting

Lummi Nation Police Department Chief Robert Wilson confirmed in a press release that there was a drive-by shooting early Thanksgiving morning near the Mackenzie housing area.

According to the release, which was posted on the Lummi Indian Business Council Facebook page, the incident occurred at approximately 3:19 a.m., but nobody was injured. The MacKenzie Residence Center is located at 2652 Warchief Circle.

“The incident is currently under investigation by the Lummi Nation Police Department (LNPD),” the release read. “”The officers of the LNPD are actively following up on several leads.”

Anyone with information on the incident was asked to call the department at 360-312-2279 or email tiphotline@lummi-nsn.gov.
