Whatcom man suspected of sexually molesting child he knew
A Whatcom County man is suspected of unlawfully touching a child he was familiar with in a sexual manner approximately two years ago.
Bellingham Police arrested Joel Barrientos-Mendoza, 45, on Wednesday and booked him into Whatcom County Jail on suspicion of first-degree child molestation.
According to information provided to The Bellingham Herald by Lt. Claudia Murphy, Barrientos-Mendoza is 26 years older than the victim.
