Old Settlers Grand Parade takes a new route
One of the highlights of Ferndale’s Old Settlers weekend is the Grand Parade, taking place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30.
This year’s theme is “We Salute Our Law Enforcement,” and grand marshal in this year’s parade is Ferndale Police Chief Michael Knapp.
There has been a slight change in the parade route this year due to the closure of Washington Street for repairs. The start of the parade is reminiscent of the old route years ago, starting and going down Vista Drive to Shukshan Street, then to Third Avenue to Main Street, then to First Street, and ending at Pioneer Park.
