New roundabout being built on East Badger Road

A new roundabout is being built on East Badger Road that could mean some delays for drivers.

Construction of the roundabout started Wednesday, July 6, and will last about two weeks, according to a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation. The roundabout is being built where Badger Road intersects with Northwood Road and will cost about $363,000.

During construction, travel will be reduced to a single lane on weekdays and daylight hours. Drivers should plan for delays of up to 10 minutes, according to WSDOT. Occasional nighttime work is also planned, and flaggers will be directing traffic.

Drivers can get updates on this project and others in Whatcom County by visiting WSDOT’s website.
