Canadian rock band Loverboy will play at this year’s Northwest Washington Fair — and you won’t have to buy an extra ticket to see the concert.
Fair officials announced Tuesday, June 7, that MyTrafficMan.net is sponsoring the Aug. 19 show, which means anyone with a general admission ticket to the fair can get into the show at no extra cost.
“This is the first time in a decade that seats will be available to the public at no additional charge,” said Jim Baron, general manager of the Northwest Washington Fair.
For those wanting reserved seating, tickets go on sale Wednesday, June 8, at nwwafair.com for $35 apiece, not including gate admission, which is required. Tickets also will be available at the fair office, 1775 Front St., Lynden, and by phone at 877-699-FAIR.
With their trademark red leather pants and bandanas, Loverboy has sold more than 10 million albums with hits like “Working for the Weekend,” “Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” and “Turn Me Loose.” Loverboy still includes four original members — vocalist Mike Reno, guitarist Paul Dean, keyboardist Doug Johnson and drummer Matt Frenette.
Tuesday’s announcement completes the lineup for grandstand entertainment at this year’s fair. The headliners:
Monday, Aug. 15: Demolition Derby

Wednesday, Aug. 17: Lynden PRCA Rodeo
