Construction starts on new Bellingham waterfront building
Construction is underway for All American Marine’s new boat-building waterfront facility.
Soil prep work is currently being done by RAM Construction and will soon be followed with construction of the 57,000-square-foot building, according to a news release from the Port of Bellingham. The $10 million project is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The cost of the facility will be repaid by All American Marine through a 25-year lease with the port.
The facility is being built on Hilton Avenue near Bellwether Way so the company can expand and meet customer requests for bigger vessels, said Matt Mullett, president and CEO of All American Marine. The company will be relocating from its smaller facility in Fairhaven.
In the news release Mullett said they plan to hire 27 additional employees after the move into the bigger building is complete.
