High school, college graduations start June 2 in Whatcom County

A slew of graduations are upon us as the school year comes to a close.

The Whatcom County ceremonies begin June 2 with Lummi Nation Tribal High School, with commencements for the area’s colleges later in the month.

Here is a list of high school and college graduation ceremonies this month:

▪ Lummi Nation Tribal High School: 6 p.m. Thursday, June 2, in the Lummi Tribal High School gym.

▪ Ferndale High School: 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at Civic Field.

▪ Windward High School: 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, in the Windward High School gym.

▪ Mount Baker High School: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at Bob Tisdale Field.

▪ Lynden Christian High School: 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Lynden Christian football stadium or the gym in case of poor weather.

▪ Explorations Academy: 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 10, in the school’s rookery.

▪ Blaine High School: 6 p.m. Friday, June 10, in the Blaine High School gym.

▪ Bellingham High School: 7 p.m. Friday, June 10, in the Bellingham High School gym. Tickets are required, and each student is given eight.

▪ Lynden High School: 7 p.m. Friday, June 10, in the Lynden High School stadium or gym in case of poor weather.

▪ Nooksack Valley High School: 7 p.m. Friday, June 10, at Sid Lambert Field.

▪ Western Washington University: 9 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at Civic Field (Carver gym is being remodeled). Tickets are required, and each graduate is given four. The ceremony will be streamed live at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/wwu-live-events1.

▪ Squalicum High School: 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, in the Squalicum High School gym. Tickets are required; each student is given several.

▪ Sehome High School: 5 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the school field or Squalicum High School gym in case of poor weather. Tickets are required, and each student is given eight.

▪ Options High School: 7 p.m. Monday, June 13, in the Bellingham High School auditorium.

▪ Meridian High School: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the Meridian High School gym.

▪ Northwest Indian College: 5 p.m. Friday, June 17, in the Wex’liem Community Building.

▪ Whatcom Community College: 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 17, in the WCC Pavilion and Student Recreation Center. Tickets are required, and each graduate is given three. A live video of the ceremony will be streamed inside the Heiner Theater and Syre Student Center.
