Mount Baker Highway east of Glacier closed Sunday for Ski to Sea

Mount Baker Highway just east of Glacier will be closed for several hours Sunday morning, May 29, to accommodate the annual Ski to Sea Race.

Both directions of the road will be closed from 7:15 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday between the Mt. Baker Ski Area and Canyon Creek Road east of Glacier, the state Department of Transportation said. The closure is to keep traffic out of the running and road bike legs of the relay race.

WSDOT is also warning of delays at the intersections of South Pass Road at Kendall Road (SR 547) north of Kendall and Highway 9 at South Pass Road in Nooksack, where racers will cross those highways.
