See WWU’s ‘The Magic Flute’ free at Whatcom County libraries

Western Washington University’s opera program presents free public performances of an adaptation of Mozart’s classic “The Magic Flute” geared for elementary-age children.

The roughly 45-minute performances, which were funded by a private grant, also are planned for students at Bellingham Christian, Happy Valley, Northern Heights, Lowell and Geneva elementary schools.

▪  7 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the Western Washington University Performing Arts Center Room No. 16, 516 High St.

▪  10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, in the Lynden Public Library, 216 Fourth St.

▪  2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 28, in the Deming Public Library, 5044 Mount Baker Highway.

▪  7 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth, 1059 N. State St.

▪  10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, in the downstairs Lecture Room of the Bellingham Public Library, 210 Central Ave.

▪  1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, in the second-floor auditorium of the Fairhaven Branch Library, 1117 12th St.
