Free GEMS Fair at WWU points girls in the direction of science
Western Washington University is offering its annual GEMS Fair, focusing on science opportunities for girls, free from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in the Academic West building on campus.
Sponsored by WWU Youth Programs, the event features groups around the area that are connected to the STEM fields in science, technology, engineering and math. GEMS stands for Girls in Engineering, Math and Science.
Information will be offered about careers in STEM fields, and there will be demonstrations every half-hour. There are prizes and a silent auction to support young women attending WWU Youth Girls in Engineering, Math & Science
