Work crews to begin paving projects in Whatcom County on Monday

Road crews under contract with Whatcom County Public Works will begin asphalt paving on several county roads beginning Monday, May 9.

Drivers are warned that long delays can be expected and they should consider using alternate routes if possible.

The following roads are scheduled for paving: Alder Street, Water Street, First Street, Mitchell Road, Potter Road, Cimarron Way, Shamrock Road, Golden Valley Drive, Hawthorne Place, Willow Place, Juniper Place, Road No. 8880, and Tilbury Road..

The work, which will be done 6 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. through Friday, May 13, is weather dependent and subject to change.
