A new speaker series will focus on reducing the stigma of Alzheimer’s disease and clarifying misconceptions about it.
The first talk, by Dr. Jody Veltkamp, will be 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Garden Street United Methodist Church, 1326 N. Garden St. Veltkamp, a neuropsychologist, will talk about the different kinds of dementia, risk factors, early warning signs and what to expect during the diagnostic process.
Talks in the Heath Education About Dementia series, to be known as HEAD, are put on by the nonprofit Alzheimer Society of Washington. They are free and open to the public.
