Paving will cause delays on roads near Sumas starting April 18

Several county roads south of Sumas will be paved the week of April 18, so drivers should use alternate routes.

Hovel, Morgan, Bowen, Clearbrook, Hill and North Telegraph roads are scheduled for asphalt paving, according to Whatcom County Public Works.

Long delays can be expected for those trying to use the roads. The work, scheduled for 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily, depends on the weather, so rain could delay the paving.
