Mushroom compost sale at Sehome High on Saturday
Kiwanis Club of Bellingham and Sehome High School will hold their annual mushroom compost sale at the school Saturday, April 16.
The popular sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the school parking lot, 2700 Bill McDonald Parkway, benefits Sehome programs and other local youth-centered nonprofit groups. Beneficiaries in 2016 include Junior Achievement, Boys & Girls Club of Whatcom County, and Animals as Natural Therapy.
The 40-pound bags of compost are sold for $5 each on a first-come, first-serve basis.
“This is a great value for gardeners and a way to help many youth in our community at the same time,” said Stephanie Morrell, Kiwanis marketing chair.
