Injured Ferndale motorcyclist improves, out of ICU
A Ferndale man was transferred out of intensive care Wednesday, April 6, after being critically injured in a motorcycle crash on March 31.
Todd Allen Benson, 47, was in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Wednesday morning, a nurse supervisor said.
Benson was riding a 1991 Honda CBR motorcycle southbound on Interstate 5 just south of Bow Hill Road in Skagit County when he veered off the road and struck a ditch in the median, according to Washington State Patrol. Benson was wearing a helmet when he was thrown from the motorcycle.
Benson was suspected of driving drunk, according to state patrol, and a charge is pending.
