Job training program for Whatcom high schoolers has open house

High school students interested in receiving training in high-demand jobs while earning high school and college credits can apply for the upcoming summer session and fall 2016 school year at Northwest Career & Technical Academy.

The academy has scheduled a tour of its Mount Vernon campus at 2205 West Campus Place for 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 20. The campus serves students in both Whatcom and Skagit counties.

Students also will be able to register at the event for the academy’s summer session, set to run from June 23 to July 13, and next year’s year-long programs.

The academy offers tuition-free training for high school, home school and GED students under 21, and has programs on campuses in both Whatcom and Skagit counties. For details, go to nwtech.k12.wa.us.
