State parks free on two Saturdays in March
No fee is required at Washington state parks on the next two Saturdays.
Saturday, March 19, is the 103rd anniversary of the state park system and Saturday, March 26, is marked as a statewide “springtime free Saturday.”
On those days, the day-use parking fee is waived and no Discover Pass is required. In Whatcom County the free day applies at Birch Bay, Larrabee and Peace Arch state parks.
Free days apply only at state parks; the Discover Pass is still required on state Fish & Wildlife and Department of Natural Resources lands.
Other free days this year are: April 22, May 8, June 4, June 11, Aug. 25, Sept. 24 and Nov. 11.
