Irish dinners benefit Meals on Wheels in Whatcom County
A pair of St. Patrick’s Day-themed events are raising money to support the Meals and Wheels and More program for elderly residents. They’re part of a nationwide March for Meals fundraising effort.
The Community Meals of Blaine and Blaine Senior Center host their third annual St. Patrick’s Dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at 763 G St. It features the music of Up in the Air and a menu of beef stew, biscuits, salad, and ice cream brownie sundae. Admission is by donation.
Ferndale Senior Activity Center will host its second annual Traditional Irish Meal from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at 1999 Cherry St. Travelin’ Light will provide music; the menu is corned beef and cabbage, steamed dill reds, Irish soda bread and fruited green Jell-O. Tickets are $10 in advance; $15 at the door; $5 for children 10 and younger.
