Bellingham classes help pre-teens and parents talk about puberty

Bellingham

Pre-teens and their parents can register for a two-part class on puberty for boys and girls, and how to talk about the issues surrounding that aspect of growing up.

Called Great Conversations, the sessions will start March 15 at St. Luke’s Community Health Education Center, 3333 Squalicum Parkway in Bellingham.

The class for girls, ages 10 to 12, and a parent are on two Tuesdays, March 15 and March 22.

The one for boys, ages 10 to 12, and a parent are on two Wednesdays, March 16 and March 23.

All classes are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The cost is $60 for one preteen and one adult. Register by going online to greatconversations.com.

The goal is to help parents start a healthy conversation with their children about topics they may have been reluctant to talk about.

PeaceHealth Medical Group Pediatrics Clinic is sponsoring the classes.
