Wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected Friday, March 4, until early Saturday across western Whatcom County.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory shortly before 1 p.m. Friday as southeast winds began to batter areas including Bellingham. Gusts at Bellingham International Airport had already hit 39 mph by then.
Gusts around 50 mph can snap tree limbs, topple some trees and knock down power lines. The advisory is set to expire at 4 a.m. Saturday.
