A Camano Island man was stable in condition at a Seattle hospital Sunday, Feb. 14, after a wreck on the Mount Baker Highway.
Guy J. Wendinger, 68, was driving his black 2007 Toyota Tacoma pickup west on Highway 542 about 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, when it left the road and struck a tree near milepost 43, about 10 miles east of Glacier.
According to a Washington State Patrol report, Wendinger was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A nursing supervisor there said he was in stable condition Sunday, but did not know if he arrived by medevac helicopter or by ambulance.
Wendinger was not wearing a seat belt, according to the State Patrol report. His pickup was destroyed in the crash. No charges were filed.
