Reservations are no longer being accepted for a community meeting Saturday, Jan. 23, about the risk of a major earthquake in the Northwest and how people should prepare.
The meeting, organized by Whatcom Volunteer Center, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Whatcom Middle School, 810 Halleck St. The seating capacity of 579 has been filled, with standing room only after that. Total attendance is limited to 800. People who have not already made a reservation can show up Saturday, but people with reservations will be admitted first.
For people who cannot attend, the event will be live-streamed at cob.org/services/education/btv10/pages/live-stream.aspx.
The event also will be viewable in a few weeks on the city’s Youtube channel, youtube.com/user/cityofbhamwa.
