Community event will address money in politics

“Money in Politics” will be the subject of a free program and community discussion offered by the League of Women Voters of Bellingham and Whatcom County this week.

The event, with a panel discussion followed by a question-and-answer period, will be 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Garden Street Methodist Church, 1326 N. Garden St., Bellingham.

Panelists include Philip Buri, a partner with Buri Funston Mumford, PLLC, and Todd Donovan, a professor of political science at Western Washington University. Details: 360-318-7751 or lwvbellinghamwhatcom.org.
