Bus riders and Whatcom Transportation Authority employees donated two tons of warm clothes and blankets during a special drive in December 2015.

WTA and the Amalgamated Transit Union conducted the drive by asking riders, and even those who use other transportation, to bring items to any bus or bus station.

The “Warm Hearts Warm Hands” drive collected 100 40-pound bags of items. The donations were divided evenly among three local organizations recommended by the Opportunity Council: Fountain Church, Hope House and the South Samish Resource Center.
