A local seafood store is closing its storefront after 20 years in business.

Vis Seafoods announced on its Facebook page that its last day at 2208 James St. is Thursday, Dec. 31. The company will continue to have an online store at visseafood.com and is continuing to take orders this week for New Year’s Eve parties.

Vis Seafoods’ Cassandra Wright said the store is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.

The store opened in 1996 and offers a variety of wild-caught seafood, including salmon and shrimp. It also has products like salmon and seafood rub.
