Bellingham jazz concert among upcoming benefits

The Bellingham Youth Jazz Band is joined by the Kid’Sax Ensemble, a group of five local high school musicians, in a concert of jazz, classical and holiday music at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at The Majestic, 1027 N. Forest St. (enter on Maple Street). The quintet also performs at noon Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Pacific Arts Holiday Market in Sunset Square Shopping Center, 1125 E. Sunset Drive.

Youth Jazz Concert

7 p.m. The Majestic, 1027 N. Forest St. $5 suggested donation. The Bellingham Youth Jazz Band and the Kid’Sax Ensemble, a group of five local high school musicians, perform jazz, classical and holiday music as a saxophone quintet, under the direction of Mark Kelly. All proceeds benefit the programs and expenses of the youth jazz program.

Boys And Girls Club Christmas Tree Fundraiser

9 a.m.-7 p.m., Garden Spot Nursery, 900 Alabama St., Bellingham, 360-676-5480. Boys and Girls Club and The Garden Spot Nursery are partnering in a fundraiser selling Christmas trees to support the club’s after-school programs.

Bellingham Circus Guild’s Second Annual Holiday Bazaar

5 p.m., Bellingham Circus Guild, 1401 Sixth St. The Bellingham Circus Guild is hosting the Holiday Bazaar at Vaudevillingham from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cirque Lab. Come enjoy local crafts, then stay for Vaudevillingham. Handiwork like tinctures, soaps, hats, earrings, teas, cards, clothing, and more! Gifts for Nature Lovers

5:30-8 p.m. Whatcom Land Trust, 412 N. Commercial St. Ten local authors and photographers will be on hand to sign and sell their work celebrating the natural beauty of Whatcom County.: Brett Baunton; artist and poet Anita Boyle; author William Dietrich; photographer and author John D’Onofrio; author Andrea Gabriel; photographer Alan Sanders; author David Tucker; photographer Mark Turner; author Todd Warger; and author Saul Weisberg. Shoppers who opt to make a donation to Whatcom Land Trust will receive a scrolled poem by James Bertolino accompanied by original art by Harold Balazs. 8-11 a.m., VFW Post 9301, 7011 Hannegan Rd. $6; free for children 5 and under. Support your local veterans at the VFW Post 9301’s pancake breakfast, held on the third Saturday of each month. It includes pancakes, sausage, eggs, milk, coffee and juice.

Breakfast with Santa

9-11:30 a.m. Christ the King, 4173 Meridian St. Bellingham Children’s House International, a local international adoption agency, hosts its second annual Breakfast with Santa. All proceeds go toward continuing the church’s mission of finding forever homes for orphans around the world. Come for a delicious breakfast, an overview of CHI’s adoption programs and a special focus on our China program. Day-to-Day Dance: “A Winter’s Tale”
