Helping out people in Whatcom County is as simple as hopping on the bus with an extra item or two in December.

New or gently used clothing and blankets are being accepted on any Whatcom Transportation Authority bus or at the bus stations through Dec. 31. The collected items will be distributed by the Opportunity Council to local people in need.

The “Warm Hearts Warm Hands” drive is sponsored by WTA and the Amalgamated Transit Union.
