Learn about next part of trail project at Fairhaven Park
Take a walk Saturday, Dec. 12, and learn about the next trail project for Fairhaven Park.
The walk from Firehouse Performing Arts Center, 1314 Harris Ave., to the park begins at 11 a.m. Wear boots. You’ll be walking through mud.
Todd Elsworth, executive director of Recreation Northwest, will lead the event, which includes a walk of the Fairhaven Park-18th Street Connector trail.
As the first part of the project, the new gravel trail replaced the muddy path that went through wetlands in Fairhaven Park. The next part will require a wetlands crossing, possibly via a boardwalk or series of bridges.
Learn more by going online to recreationnorthwest.org and typing “Trail Talk with Todd” into the search window. You also can find details on the event’s Facebook page, under the same name.
