Expect a breezy Thursday, Dec. 3, but forecasters are saying it won’t be as bad as they first thought.

A high wind watch has been reduced to a wind advisory for western Whatcom County. Southeast winds 20 to 35 mph late Thursday morning will turn southwesterly late in the afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service. Gusts to 45 mph are possible, though they likely will be a little weaker in Bellingham.

Wind gusts that strong can lead to power outages. Wind will diminish Thursday night.

Rain is also in the forecast from Thursday through the weekend, with daytime highs expected in the mid- to low 50s.
