Friends of the Bellingham Public Library Winter Book Sale
10 a.m.-6 p.m., Bellingham Public Library Central Library, 210 Central Ave., Bellingham. Free 360-778-7323 Buyers can choose from a large selection of books and media for all ages, with the sale tables restocked throughout the sale. The hours are: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, and Thursday, Dec. 3 (most items $1); 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 (half-price sale day) and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 ($4 per bag sale).

Proceeds from the sale support student scholarships to Western’s 13th Annual Children’s Literature Conference, which will take place Feb. 27 on Western’s campus.

Bazaar - Homemade Arts & Crafts Bazaar

Visit with Santa Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Blaine Senior Center, which provides activities and programs for seniors, including a daily lunch program, exercise programs, socializing, entertainment, and hobby and learning opportunities.

Pancake Breakfast with Sinterklaas
8-11 a.m., Lynden Community Center, 401 Grover St. $5 Adults, $3 children. 360-354-4501. Come for a hearty breakfast of pancakes or French toast, eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee and then welcome the arrival of Sinterklaas at 9:30 a.m. Learn about this Dutch tradition and visit and take pictures with Sinterklaas throughout the morning.
North Fork Friends Book and Bake Sale

The Coats Holiday Concert
7 p.m., Bellingham High School, 2020 Cornwall Ave., Bellingham. $20; National touring artists and the Northwest vocal band The Coats return to Bellingham High School with their holiday concert. This fifth annual show is a major fundraiser for local high school choir programs. Bellingham High School Showstoppers, Sehome High School Chamber Choir and Squalicum High School Storm Singers open the show and join The Coats for a special finale. Tickets are available at the Bellingham High School ASB office, Village Books and the downtown Community Food Co-op. They will also be available at the door, though advance purchase is recommended.
Santa Run

Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 4 and North Whatcom Fire and Rescue firefighters and fire trucks will be escorting Santa around the district from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Firefighters will be accepting donations to help Project Santa. For those who wish to share their talents, there will be time for karaoke. And to help our veterans and their families there also will be a food drive on nonperishable items.

Following the breakfast, join ABC Dance in a “Holiday Revue.” Students of all ages showcase their tapping talents to rockin’ holiday favorites.
Bazaar: Whatcom Hills Waldorf School Holiday Faire
10 a.m.-3 p.m., Whatcom Hills Waldorf School, 941 Austin St. Each activity costs from $1-$3. 360-733-3164. Live music, food, local artisans and low-cost, hands-on crafting workshops that feature natural materials and include rolling beeswax candles, felted wool projects, and translucent paper stars to color your windows. Visit the Snow Queen in her castle, dig for crystals in Gnome Village, watch an enchanting puppet play or warm up with homemade soup and live music in the Wooden Spoon Cafe. Free parking is available at The Firs at 4605 Cable St. A free shuttle brings people to and from the school.
