Work continues in Fairhaven, along Lincoln Street and Alabama Street, according to the Public Works update. If you’re crossing into Canada at Lynden, expect some changes as the Canadians upgrade their area.

Chamber announces business award nominees
The Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce & Industry recently announced the nominees for the small and large business of the year awards.
The nominees for Small Business of the Year are Bellingham Alive, Daylight Properties, PR Consulting and Radley Muller Photography.
The nominees for Large Business of the Year are Aslan Brewing, BioLife Plasma Services, Snapper Shuler Kenner Insurance and PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.
The chamber also announced its nonprofit and green business of the year. The Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County is the Nonprofit of the Year, while Green House Data is the Green Business of the Year.
The chamber’s 11th Annual Awards Banquet will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3 at the Silver Reef Hotel Casino Spa. That’s when all of the awards will be announced.
