New solar power along waterfront

Itek Energy, a Bellingham-based solar panel manufacturer, has finished a new employee-owned community solar project on the waterfront next to the old Georgia-Pacific Corp. wastewater treatment lagoon. The system has 236 itek energy solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and was completed in collaboration with the Port of Bellingham, which owns the land. View its live solar production at this link.

Talking TPP

Congressman Rick Larsen will host a public meeting from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bellingham City Hall, 210 Lottie St., on Friday, Nov. 13, to talk with constituents about the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The TPP is a trade agreement between the U.S. and 11 other countries.

Silver Reef announces grand opening event

Silver Reef Hotel Casino Spa will have a grand opening celebration for its new hotel tower on Friday, Nov. 20.

The new tower has 101 additional rooms, 2,000 square feet of meeting space, a new coffee bar and a fireplace. Details about Silver Reef can be found at its website.
