A Bellingham dentist will provide free dental care to veterans on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, but appointments must be made in advance.
Aaron Lemperes of Lemperes Family Dentistry will participate in the Veterans’ Smile Day event in partnership with the American Dental Association and the Whatcom Alliance for Health Advancement.
Lemperes will provide free care for veterans at his office, 3300 Squalicum Parkway. He will screen and treat veterans, and discuss their diagnosis and what can be done. The free care may include cleanings, X-rays, exams and fillings. Lemperes expects to treat 20 to 25 veterans on Nov. 11.
“Veterans often do not have access to dental care or have to meet certain criteria to receive care,” he said. “I see this as a small way to help veterans who have served our country and to say thank you for their sacrifice.”
