The Bellingham School District has asked parents and community members to be part of the first steps in building a new Sehome High School.

The district will hold two meetings open for parents and community members — on Wednesday, Nov. 4, and Thursday, Nov. 5 — for the purpose of brainstorming “hopes and dreams for a new Sehome,” according to a district release.

The meetings will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Sehome High School’s cafeteria, 2700 Bill McDonald Parkway.

Community members can offer input by taking an online survey on the Sehome High School website by Nov. 9. People also can apply to be on the Sehome High School Design Advisory Committee; look for information soon on the district website, bellinghamschools.org.

The district anticipates construction on a new high school will be completed by fall 2019. Students will continue to attend the current Sehome High School during construction.
