Bellingham’s McNett sold to Canadian company

A locally owned outdoor gear manufacturer has been sold to a family owned Canadian business.

Coghlan’s Ltd of Winnipeg purchased McNett Corporation in a deal that was completed Thursday, Oct. 1, according to a news release from McNett. Duane and Nancy McNett said they wanted to sell the business to a company that would align with their interest and values.

“We know the Coghlan’s family and team is the perfect transition partner for us and that the combined efforts of both companies will create a very bright future,” the McNetts said in the news release.

The Bellingham facility has 45 employees, who will remain headquartered in Bellingham and led by CEO Travis Huisman.

McNett was started in 1980 and makes a variety of products for the diving, outdoor, sporting goods and military markets. Coghlan’s was founded in 1959 by Norm Coghlan and makes a variety of outdoor and safety gear.
